There are lots of fun ways to celebrate New Year's in the Bay Area with the entire family. Here is a round-up of great family friendly options for ringing in the New Year. All events are on December 31st.

Japanese New Year's Bell-Ringing Ceremony, 11:30am-2pm, ring a 16th century Japanese bell to herald the start of a new year, Asian Art Museum, San Francisco.

New Year's Eve Day Party, 12-2pm, an exciting day of hands-on scientific fun and cheer as hundreds of balloons and an apple cider toast mark the celebration of a new year, Lawrence Hall of Science, Berkeley.

Happy New Years, Eve Charlie Brown!, 10am-4pm, Ring in the New Year with Snoopy, hands-on crafts for kids, and Up-Down and Baby Balloon Drops at noon, and root beer toasts, Schultz Museum, Santa Rosa.

New Year Eve Party, 8pm-12:30am, Play pinball, carnival games, and arcade games all night long. We will have a β€œquiet room” for sleepy young partiers and countdowns for each American time zone (Eastern through Pacific) with sparkling-cider provided as well as a magic show, Playland-Not-at-the-Beach, El Cerrito.
