Redwood City is proud to offer our kids music series for a sixth year! For FOUR Sundays this summer, the ubiquitous Andy-Z will be the Master of Music and Play by bringing his high energy to Courthouse Square. Sponsored by Redwood City's Public Library and Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, this series will provide a safe and fun environment for kids to dance and enjoy live music along with an inflatable play-land this summer!
About Emcee "MC" Andy Z
Redwood City-born kindie-rock artist Andy Z literally feels right at home MC'ing kids rock concert series, Kidchella. In addition to performing live for hundreds of audiences every year, and at such prominent national music festivals as Strings Music Festival in Colorado and Austin City Limits Festival in Texas, he has guest deejayed on the national radio shows Spare The Rock Spoil The Child and Hilltown Family Variety Show. As a celebrity, he appeared with Nancy Cartwright (the voice of Bart Simpson) at the joint event "Stars In The Park", and with San Francisco Giants mascot “Lou Seal”, leading the Highlander Little League Opening Day crowd in a rousing rendition of “Take Me Out To The Ball Game”.
Alison Faith Levy’s Big Time Tot Rock
Alison Faith Levy is a beloved Bay Area children’s musician, performer, composer and educator. She is thrilled to bring her high-energy Big Time Tot Rock band to Redwood City’s Kidchella Festival for the fifth year in a row! Her live show engages kids and families in all kinds of dancing, jumping, spinning, wiggling, pretend play and other silliness - all to the strains of her colorful, upbeat retro pop tunes. Alison is the early childhood music specialist at the PJCC Preschool, and will be performing songs from her well-known children’s albums, World of Wonder and The Start of Things, plus some familiar favorites and special surprises. She is currently busy writing and recording her new album for families, You Are Magic. Alison and the band can’t wait to rock the big stage in Courthouse Square for their favorite gig of the summer!
