Halloween may seem scary, but these days, it offers something fun for everyone. Consider these Not-Too-Spooky Halloween events happening in Marin and beyond.

Tuesday, October 3

Respook! Rescare! Rewear! Halloween Costume Swap, 5-8pm, Donate a bag for free admission; No donation, $5/person or $15/family, Tam Valley Community Center, Mill Valley.

Sunday, October 8

Marine Science Sunday, 10am-5pm, take a look at Creatures of the Deep, classroom presentations, docent-led tours, and more! Marine Mammal Center, Sausalito.

Saturday, October 14

"Mini" Harvest Celebration Family Farm Day, 10am-2pm, classics like milking our goats, feeding our chickens, cooking, eating, exploring and playing - all with the added fun of some special activities to top off this exciting day, Slide Ranch.

Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, 3 – 3:45pm, magic show full of Halloween fun for all ages with Mike Della Penna. Bring your ghosts, goblins, superheroes and fairies as tricks reign over treats in this silly, laughter-filled show, Fairfax Library.

Saturday, October 21

Halloween Carnival, 10am-2pm, preschool-elementary, Calling all Ghosts, Goblins, Pikachu and Princesses! Join us for our non-scary Halloween fun with games, prizes, food, a photo booth and arts and crafts, Twin Cities Community Preschool, Corte Madera.

Presidio Pumpkin Carving Workshop, 11am-4pm, Main Parade Grounds, The Presidio, San Francisco.

Floating Pumpkin Patch, 1:30-6pm, Dive for your pumpkin at Ridgeway Swim Center. $10 per person (includes a pumpkin).  Enjoy a day filled with games, pumpkin decorating and pumpkin splashing fun for participants of all ages, Santa Rosa.

GOBLINS' SPOOKtacular, 5-7pm, San Anselmo Avenue in spooky downtown San Anselmo. Dress in your most boo-tiful Halloween costume and join us for some traditional small town fun. This event is for those 0 to 7 years old! Merchants and volunteers will be standing along San Anselmo Avenue between Woodland and Tamalpais to hand out goodies. At fire station #19 on San Anselmo Avenue, there will be cookies and juice!, San Anselmo.

Friday, October 27

Trunk or Treat, 4:30 - 6:30pm, It is a fun, free event for the community where families come to the community center parking lot and "trick-or-treat" from decorated car trunks.  Free music, activities, face-painting for kids and more! Mill Valley Community Center.

Magic Show, Thrills and chills await us as our Magician amazes us with Halloween magic combining comedy, audience participation and amazing magic to create a spooktacular 45 minutes show for goblins ages 3 to 103! Mill Valley Community Center.

Greenwood School Kindergarten Open House & Pumpkin Patch, 10am-12pm, Mill Valley.

Kids Costume Contest Dog Parade & Scavenger Hunt & Trick-or-Treating, 10:30am, Marin County Mart, Larkspur.

Boo at the Zoo10am-3pm, Stroll the Zoo in costume and collect yummy treats. Ride the spooky boo train and join the dance party. Plus, get your face painted, make treats for the animals, and see how the animals at Oakland Zoo celebrate Halloween. Kids in costumes receive a free ride ticket. Oakland Zoo.

Halloween Hoopla, 11-3pm, Trick-or-Treat So Others Can Eat at Bon Air welcomes costumed kids, families and pets to a day-long Halloween Hoopla with trick-or-treating at restaurants and shops, live music, face painting, pet caricaturist, pumpkin decorating and the start of its annual canned food drive, Bon Air Center, Greenbrae.

Boo at the Zoo, 11am-4pm, a  "not-too-spooky" Halloween family festival where you can trick-or-treat around the Zoo and see the animals enjoy pumpkin treats, San Francisco Zoo.

Woodland Pet Food Halloween DOGtoberfest & Costume Contest, 3-6, featuring interactive pet related activities and resources for pet lovers and their four-legged family friends. Festivities will include free pet photos, pet sketch artist, animal rescue organizations and adoptions, police K-9 unit and more! Plus, there will be a Howl’oween Pet Costume Contest as well as free Center-wide trick or treating for kids and their families, Strawberry Village, Mill Valley.

Halloween - Boos, Bones and Walking with the Dead, trick-or-treat through the new skeletal exhibit, enjoy the Spirited Halloween Fun plus a Hauntingly Tasty Taco Bar, Safari West, Santa Rosa.

Graveyard Stroll, 7pm, uncovers one of Marin’s most interesting, but little known cemeteries. All treats (and tricks) are free. Marin County Parks Lucas Valley Field Office in San Rafael.
