We get things started Friday night, June 7th, with a movie shown on Contratti Park Baseball Field at 8:00PM – or as soon as it is dark enough to show.
This year we are showing “Small Foot” – a fun, animated musical adventure. Migo is a friendly Yeti whose world gets turned upside down when he discovers something that he didn’t know existed — a human. He soon faces banishment from his snowy home when the rest of the villagers refuse to believe his fantastic tale. Hoping to prove them wrong, Migo embarks on an epic journey to find the mysterious creature that can put him back in good graces with his simple community.
“Motherload” will be our opening short. Filmmaker Liz Canning cycled everywhere until she had twins in 2008 – and didn’t stop after that… Learn about the growing movement of using cargo bikes for hauling passengers and heavy loads. Following a raucous standing ovation for a Motherload preview at the League of American Bicyclists’ National Summit, the film will make its official world premiere May 4th 2019, and screen internationally at film festivals. Catch it at the Fairfax Festival Movie Night!
Fun for all the family!
Come early and stake out a good spot…bring your blankets, low-back chairs and even dinner if you like.
