Kids Cooking for Life engages children and families in nutrition lessons and hands-on cooking classes. Studies show that when children are actively engaged in choosing their food and learning to cook, they are empowered to develop life-long healthy eating habits.
Good Food for All
Community Action Marin is Marin County’s anti-poverty agency and the largest social service nonprofit. At Community Action Marin, they break down the barriers that get in the way of anyone in our community being able to support themselves, and each other. Community members come to the agency because they have a need for one of their services. The agency’s bilingual and bicultural staff ensures that people are heard—from immediate needs to making long-lasting change a reality in support of equity and well-being for all. Services include free and affordable, early chiildhood education, homeless outreach and care management for adults and transitional aged youth, emergency assistance, help applying for public benefits such as the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).MediCal, or Calfresh, financial coaching, job training, and more.

You will come up with creative ways of raising awareness and getting help to those who need it, and then make them happen! Bring your leadership skills, enthusiasm, creativity, and ideas!

Marin Youth Court is an alternative to the traditional juvenile justice system; it is a real court for teens that have committed real crimes. Based on restorative and trauma-informed practices, Youth Court volunteers manage all aspects of the program and assume roles as jurors, advocates, and bailiffs. Teen volunteers (12-21) encourage peers who have broken the law to reflect on poor decisions, repair harm done, and reconnect with their communities by rendering a restorative plan to help ensure they make better decisions in the future.”
