Each year the event kicks off with a parade down Main Street and continues in Civic Center Plaza with live music, performances from local dance groups, craft vendors, food trucks, carnival games, face painting and more.

The Mill Valley Arts Commission's Comedy in the Plaza returns for 2026 on Thursday, June 25th at the Mill Valley Downtown Plaza! 

While the JUNETEENTH FESTIVAL has provided us with the opportunity to celebrate African American music, culture, and traditions, BLACK HISTORY CELEBRATIONS, has expanded our reach by allowing us to highlight significant contributions African Americans have made to the city of Berkeley, California, and the nation.

This will be a fun, kid-friendly event with local mushroom art, hands on activities and workshops, food and more!
