While every situation is different, our agency works every day to provide struggling Marin families with a safety net so that you can recover from a challenging life event. We aim to provide short term financial assistance so that we can create stability in your family.

Cal WORKS/TANF

Cal WORKS/TANF

CalWORKs Employment Services administers Welfare-to-Work employment services to Marin County families receiving public assistance/cash aid or TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families). The goal of the program is to help families reach self-sufficiency and reduce or eliminate their need for cash assistance.

Community Action Marin

Community Action Marin

Community Action Marin is Marin County’s  anti-poverty agency and the largest social service nonprofit. At Community Action Marin, they break down the barriers that get in the way of anyone in our community being able to support themselves, and each other. Community members come to the agency  because they have a need for one of their services. The agency’s bilingual and bicultural staff ensures that people are heard—from immediate needs to making long-lasting change a reality in support of equity and well-being for all. Services include free and affordable, early chiildhood education, homeless outreach and care management for adults and transitional aged youth, emergency assistance, help applying for public benefits such as the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).MediCal, or Calfresh, financial coaching, job training, and more.

Health and Human Services
