Mill Valley Marks 125 Years with Grand Quasquicentennial Celebration Labor Day Weekend
The City of Mill Valley is proud to announce its 125th anniversary of
incorporation, celebrating the Quasquicentennial, with a vibrant, three-day Labor Day Weekend Celebration,
running Saturday, August 30th through Monday, September 1st, 2025.
Event Highlights:
Saturday, August 30th:
• 12:30pm-1pm: Dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Old Mill Roof Restoration
Sunday, August 31st:
• 11am-8:30pm: Concerts in the Plaza, presented by the Mill Valley Arts Commission
Monday, September 1st (Labor Day):
• 10:30am-12:30pm: A historically-themed parade of floats, starting at the Mill Valley Middle School,
led by the CAL Band
• 12pm: Community Sing-along of the song “Mill Valley”, led by iconic local artist Rita Abrams
• 12pm-6pm: Plaza Community Party with live music, birthday cake and cupcakes, Honorary Keys to the City, and
performances by both longtime and emerging local artists
• 1pm-4pm: Tamalpais High School Working Artists Exhibition, Puppet Shows
• 1:15pm-2:45pm: MV Festival of Shorts at The Sequoia, including Q&A sessions with filmmakers
• 1:30pm-3:30pm: Guided historical walks of downtown Mill Valley
• 1:30pm-4:30pm: Docents at Old Mill explain the history and workings of the mill

• 2pm-4:30pm: Enjoy The Curtain Theatre’s 25th Anniversary Production “As You Like It”

Since 1900, Mill Valley has commemorated its incorporation every 25 years. These gatherings have historically
served to bring residents together to reflect on the community’s journey and look toward its future.
Today, Mill Valley invites all who have shaped or been shaped by this city, including those from the broader 94941
community, to come together in gratitude, learning, and joy.
