This year, we’re seeking out the last bit of sunshine on the cusp of the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. Join us as we take a special walk around one of our most peaceful locations, Miwok Meadows. 

As one of the best places to see the park’s wildlife, Miwok Meadows makes an ideal location to explore as day fades to night. Deer walk lightly through the shadows. Turkeys get in their last scuffs in the leaves before flying up to leafy roosts in the trees. Coyotes skulk through the tall, dry strands of last-summer’s grasses. Great-horned owls hoot their four-note call, Sierra chorus frogs sing from the ponds, and clouds glow in the last light. Join us for a peaceful break from the holiday bustle.
