7 Awesome Things to do at UC Berkeley for Families

UC Berkeley is a treasure trove of awesome things to discover, witness and experience. We love cruising around, hunting for a cool spot to eat and gawking at the stunning architecture. Here’s my ultimate list of kid-friendly adventures on the UC Berkeley Campus!

Second Saturdays for Families. Admission is free for kids 18 and under and for one adult per child 13 and under.

Gallery + Studio for ages 6–12 with accompanying adult(s). Each of these two-part workshops integrates an interactive gallery tour with a related art project; each session lasts about an hour and a half. Please arrive promptly to secure your place, as space is limited.

Roundtable Reading recommended for ages 8 and up with accompanying adult(s), young readers read aloud to one another from the opening pages of a good book for about an hour. Children who participate at the event will receive a copy of the book to continue reading at home. No advance sign-up needed; just show up at 2:00 ready to read!

If you are in search of a memorable outing, attending a sports game on campus can be a great way to spend time with your family. Apart from the popular football matches, there are several other affordable sporting events that promise just as much excitement and entertainment, making them ideal for children and the whole family to enjoy together.
