Friday, April 1, April Fool's

Broom Buster Work Day, 9am – 12pm, ages 5+, learn about the importance of invasive species removal and lend a hand! Volunteer work is mildly strenuous and involves bending, pulling, and kneeling, Meet at the Tiburon Peninsula Club parking lot in Tiburon (1600 Mar West St).

Kent Island Restoration, 10am – 2pm, ages 5+, restore the unique ecosystem on Kent Island in Bolinas Lagoon, meet at the public dock on Wharf Rd in Bolinas (across from the College of Marin biology lab.)

Afternoon LEGO Club, 3pm, South Novato Library.

MCBC Family Biking Workshop, 3:45-5:45pm, Coleman Elementary, San Rafael.

Kids Pajama Party with Michael Slack, illustrator of Race Car Count, 6pm, Pull on your PJs and bring your teddy bear to the bookstore! Illustrator Michael Slack will be here to read you a bedtime story. Get cozy, listen to a story or two, have some milk and cookies and get your books signed. Then head home for bed, Diesel, A Bookstore, Larkspur.

Saint Stupid's Day Parade, 12pm, a celebration of stupidity, bring socks for the sock exchange, pennies for the banker's heart, dead lottery tickets for the Federal Reserve, noise/music makers for the exorcism and a well dressed sense of absurdity. Zumba at McInnis Park, 10am – 2pm, begin with volunteer work to spruce up McInnis Park and improve habitat along Las Gallinas Creek, then we’ll follow the lead of our Zumba teacher as we dance and move to upbeat salsa music. Huge smiles and a low impact full body workout are guaranteed! Afterward we will enjoy a delicious, free lunch provided by Mi Pueblo. Wildflowers to Waterfalls, 9:30am – 12pm, stroll along the creek to the waterfall. Look for spring wildflowers as we make our way through the various habitats of this beautiful preserve. Parking is limited along Cascade Drive so rangers will provide a shuttle from Doc Edgar Park in Fairfax to the Cascade Drive Gate. All skill levels are welcome and no experience is necessary, Meet at Doc Edgar Park on Cascade Dr in Fairfax.

Children’s Storytime and Family Walk, 10:30am, featured book, “The Tree Lady: The True Story of How One Tree-Loving Woman Changed a City Forever.”, San Francisco Botanical Garden in Golden Gate Park.
