Firebolts Volleyball Club Launches Summer Camp

The outdoor Firebolts Volleyball camp is designed for kids who are ages 6-14 and wanting an introduction to the game of volleyball and to advance their game. Former Cal volleyball player Lynn Stein will head up the summer camp Monday - Friday from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm at Strawberry Recreation District Practice starting June 14. Firebolts will guide your child through the first stages of ball handling and basic rules of the game; a perfect introduction for CYO and school volleyball which will start back in the autumn. Your child will understand skills like teamwork, catching, throwing, passing, setting, and arm swing/hitting. Intermediate, advanced, and high school camps are also offered. Meet the Founders

Lynn Stein was named 1988 San Diego Volleyball Player of the Year. Lynn went onto become one of the nation’s top recruits as she was named Volleyball First Team All American her senior year. She played volleyball on a full scholarship at UC Berkeley. She earned All Pac-10 Conference Freshman Team honors. She was a Cal volleyball representative and named a Cal Assistant Volleyball Coach.

Lynn is a co-founder of the Firebolts Volleyball Club along with her friend Quynh Nguyen, whom she met when their daughters attended preschool together in 2010. These moms share a passion for volleyball and its much needed expansion of the sport.

Quynh Nguyen has been a mentor for youth through CYO volleyball and basketball coaching and on the respective CYO boards. Quynh handles all administration.
