Things That Make Me Leap for Joy This February

It’s not just any February…..it’s a Leap Year.  That means one extra day for family fun. It only comes once every four years, so I’m going to make the best of it by sharing SIX things that personally make me Leap for Joy this February.

One baseball team rules in San Francisco

⚾ Join the San Francisco Giants at Giants FanFest which takes place at AT&T Park on February 13 and includes live KNBR broadcasts on the field, player Q&As, viewing of the World Series trophies, free player autographs, places to take photos, a kids zone and more.


Two must see live family friendly theatre performances

🎭 The classic tale of 'The Little Mermaid' at the Marin Theatre Company in Mill Valley. Extra special performance at the Mill Valley Library on February 7th.

🎭 Straight from the comic strip is the world premier of 'Bad Kitty On Stage' at Freight & Salvage in Berkeley. 


Three ideas to channel your inner monkey and celebrate The Chinese New Years, Gung Hay Fat Choy      

🐵 February 15th is the Chinese New Year Festival at the Bay Area Discovery Museum.

🐵 Chinese New Year Concert and Imperial Dinner, lion dancing, Chinese calligraphy, ribbon dancing, tea bars, children’s entertainment and “lucky” red envelopes, San Francisco Symphony, Davies Hall.

🐵 The one and only San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade winds its way through Chinatown on February 20. Enjoy gorgeous floats, elaborate costumes, ferocious lions, exploding firecrackers, and the crowd favorite, a spectacular 268' Golden Dragon ("Gum Lung").

🍄 Commune with Marin Park Rangers Nature for Kids: Stafford Lake on February 15 and look for millipedes and beetles under logs, tadpoles along the edges of the pond, and maybe we'll even find a newt

🐟 February 6 join NatureBridge's Oceans Aglow: Family Night Hike & Campfire at Rodeo Beach in Sausalito. Discover one of the most amazing natural phenomenons, bioluminescence.
