Set at the dawn of the 20th century, the play follows an aristocratic matriarch who returns to her family estate only to find it drowning in debt, with the house and its glorious cherry orchard headed for auction. As the family clings to the past and resists change, the world moves on without them. Incredibly funny and deeply sad, The Cherry Orchard is a sharp, surprisingly modern look at change, love and the stories we tell ourselves.
