Join us for Earth Day 2026 at China Camp State Park, where volunteers will support two meaningful restoration projects: helping repair historic structures in China Camp Village by replacing fir pier planks, steel siding, and redwood wall boards; and participating in habitat restoration near Back Ranch Meadows by removing invasive Scotch and French broom — plants that crowd out native species, harm wildlife habitat, alter soil chemistry, and increase wildfire risk. Using hand tools and weed pullers, volunteers can help reduce fire fuel loads and strengthen the park’s climate resilience. All plant debris will be placed in designated locations for appropriate organic disposal. While moderately strenuous, the work is family-friendly and ages 14 and older are welcome (minors must be accompanied by an adult and bring a waiver signed by their guardian). Lunch will be provided. Please bring your own drinks. Beverages will also be available for purchase from the café in China Camp Village.
