About the Event

Concerts in the Plaza is all about bringing people together through great live music. Each summer, the series transforms downtown into a gathering place where friends, families, and neighbors can relax, connect, and enjoy performances by some of the Bay Area's best musicians. From Americana and folk to blues, rock, and power pop, every performance offers something a little different while sharing the same laid-back, community-focused spirit. Bring a chair, grab a bite from a local restaurant, and settle in for a day of music under the open sky.

This Year's Lineup

Give Me a Dollar - 11:00am-12:00pm
Give Me A Dollar is a musical project led by Tommy Freiburger and Karsen Scott, whose songs concern close friends, favorite hats, and seafaring dreams. Tommy and Karsen bring songs written over their lifetimes alongside co-written material to this collaboration which has recently opened its eyes wide and begun speaking in a timeless and loving tongue. With a focus on truth in storytelling and backed by instruments acoustic and electric, Give Me A Dollar produces an americana, indie and folk-inspired sound which joins the intimate with the universal. 

Lorin Rowan & The Deep Blue Jam - 12:30pm-1:30pm
Lorin Rowan & The Deep Blue Jam is a Northern California-based Americana roots band blending rock, reggae, jam, folk, and bluegrass into a distinctive, mandolin-driven sound. Led by acclaimed songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Lorin Rowan, the band pairs exceptional musicianship with compelling original songs and fresh interpretations of timeless classics. Their high-energy performances deliver soulful grooves, rich harmonies, and a sound that appeals to fans across multiple genres.

Caroline De Lone - 2:00pm-3:00pm
Caroline de Lone is a San Francisco Bay Area singer-songwriter whose heartfelt storytelling and love of live music have shaped her career as a performer. She has shared the stage with artists including Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, Boz Scaggs, Sammy Hagar, Bonnie Raitt, Buddy Miller, Jim Lauderdale, and Steve Earle, and her debut album, Fingerprints, showcases her songwriting. From Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley to stages across the U.S. and Europe, Caroline brings warmth, authenticity, and a genuine connection to every performance.

Musical Feast - 3:30pm-4:30pm
Musical Feast delivers unique arrangements spanning alt-country, new wave, folk, rock, bluegrass, and original music. Their eclectic repertoire includes songs by Crosby, Stills & Nash, The Cure, John Prine, Hank Williams, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Sarah Jarosz, the Traveling Wilburys, John Hiatt, Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, Neil Young, The Beatles, U2, and more. Featuring guitars, flute, harmonica, violin, fiddle, bass, mandolin, rich harmonies, and vocals, Musical Feast brings every performance to life with spirit, fun, and flair.

HowellDevine - 5:00pm-6:00pm
HowellDevine delivers Hill Country and Delta blues driven by hypnotic grooves and deeply syncopated rhythms. Featuring Joshua Howell on guitar, harmonica, and vocals, Joe Kyle Jr. on upright bass, and J. Hansen on drums, the trio has earned acclaim for its distinctive approach to traditional blues. The first blues act signed to Arhoolie Records in more than 25 years, HowellDevine brings new life to early blues with an energetic, rhythm-forward sound that sets them apart.

The Rubinoos - 6:30pm-7:30pm
The Rubinoos are a Berkeley, California-based power pop band known for their infectious sound and enduring live performances. Formed by lifelong friends Jon Rubin and Tommy Dunbar, the band rose to national prominence with their acclaimed 1977 debut album and has since recorded with producers including Todd Rundgren, Kevin Gilbert, and Chuck Prophet. Their music has appeared in film and television, including Revenge of the Nerds and Netflix's Sex Education, and they continue to perform for audiences around the world.
