The Curtain Theatre returns to Old Mill Park with Love’s Labour’s Lost — rowdy, romantic chaos where vows crumble and women win.
In Love’s Labour’s Lost, the king of Navarre and his entourage swear off women and begin a three-year program of fasting and self- improvement. Their vow is immediately tested by the arrival of the Princess of France and her posse, who just want to get down to business and have a good time doing it. As each man quickly falls in love, a series of mistaken identities, fast-paced arguments and a play within a play lead to one of Shakespeare’s most unusual endings, where love’s labour has just begun.
The production features live music, puppets, slapstick and swordplay. Bring a picnic and enjoy for an afternoon of free theatre in the redwoods.
