National Night Out is an annual crime prevention event sponsored nationally by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored locally by the Santa Clara Police Department. The event promotes community-police partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.

On Tuesday, August 5, 2025 it is our goal to:

  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community partnerships

  • Heighten crime prevention awareness

  • Generate support for, and participation in, local crime prevention efforts

  • Build connections within the community and get to know your neighbors

Together, we are making communities safer, more caring places to live. Light up your street by turning on outside lights and spend the evening with your neighbors, local Police and Fire Department personnel, City and Santa Clara Unified School District representatives.

Neighborhood ideas include:

  • Potluck or BBQ

  • Ice cream social

  • Games and contest

  • Block party

  • Food or clothing donation

  • Picnic or gathering at a neighborhood park or pool

  • Plan a clean-up day to beautify a common area

  • Heighten disaster preparation awareness

  • Set neighborhood goals or discuss neighborhood issues

  • Reconnect your Neighborhood Watch Program or make plans to start a group

Be creative. Have fun. Celebrate with your neighbors.
