The Museum is embarking on an exciting three-year project exploring Nowruz, the Persian New Year celebration of the spring equinox. Our goal is to develop a cultural festival and a Museum exhibition by co-creating these projects with individuals and organizations that celebrate Nowruz.

Join us for Richmond’s first public Nowruz celebration—a vibrant festival marking the Persian New Year and the arrival of spring! 

Norouz is the celebration of Spring and the beginning of the Persian Year. Create a hyacinth picture in celebration of Norouz and Spring.  Recommended for children ages 4-12.   

We will celebrate the ancient custom of bidding farewell to the winter and welcoming the spring season and the rebirth of nature (A New Beginning).

Jump over bonfires on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Persian Center, 2029 Durant Avenue in Berkeley from 6-10 pm, to celebrate the change of seasons and welcome spring.

Celebrate the Persian New Year with Azari Vineyards on Saturday, March 23rd from 11 to 4 PM. We will celebrate the abundance of springtime with live music, fire jumping, authentic Persian finger food, fire-roasted flatbread, and our delicious Shiraz.
