San Francisco: Nowruz at SF City Hall

  • San Francisco City Hall (North Light Court) 1 Doctor Carlton B Goodlett Place San Francisco, CA, 94102 United States (map)

This year, we have made the thoughtful decision not to host our traditional gala, out of respect for the grief and hardship many within our community are carrying. At the same time, we believe it is more important than ever to thoughtfully acknowledge our heritage, honor our ancestors, and ensure that our culture continues to be seen, understood, and uplifted.

On Friday, March 20th, from 12:00–3:00 p.m., in partnership with Mayor Daniel Lurie, we will gather at San Francisco City Hall (North Light Court) for a cultural Nowruz observance and educational program.

This gathering is designed to:
*Honor our history and ancestral traditions
*Educate the broader Bay Area community about Nowruz and its global significance
*Uplift and elevate our cultural presence in San Francisco
*Create a space of unity and dignity during a sensitive time

Agenda:
To be announced soon!
Doors open at 12pm

We will feature traditional performances, a beautiful Haft-Seen display, Persian tea, Persian ice cream and much more. We are also honored to welcome other communities who observe and acknowledge Nowruz, reflecting the richness and diversity of the 300+ million people worldwide who mark this new year.

Now more than ever, visibility matters. Presence matters. Cultural education matters.
