What's in your watershed? Stop by our table to follow the journey of a drop of water from the top of Mt Tam to the ocean.
Being the highest peak in the area, Mt Tam is at the start of multiple watersheds. Once rain falls here, it begins a journey over hills, through rocks, and picks up a few passengers as it shapes the landscape.
Meet us at East Peak for a hands-on learning opportunity and a live demonstration of how water flows in a watershed all while enjoying spectacular views from the top of it all.
Keeping a healthy watershed depends on all of us! Join one of our 10-minute ranger-led talks at 10:30am and 11:30am to discuss how multiple agencies work together to support the many different environments that rely on our watershed and understand the impacts that climate change may bring.

CAPACITY: These events do not have capacity limits - come on out!
PARKING: We strongly recommend carpooling and arriving at least 30 minutes early to locate parking. Pantoll, Bootjack, and East Peak require a $8 fee - bring exact change! You can also pay through the Yodel app (https://www.yodelpass.com) . The Quarry Parking lot (just past Mountain Theater towards East Peak) is an option if Rock Spring Parking lot is full. Pantoll parking is very limited – BootJack sometimes will have open spots. Bus service schedule is available at https://marintransit.org/routes/61.
FAMILIES: Suitable for families with children who are interested in nature.
CANCELLATIONS: Rain, red flag days, winds above 30 mph, and unforeseen circumstances will cancel. Check the Friends of Mt Tam Facebook for updates: https://www.facebook.com/FriendsOfMtTam
CLOTHES: Weather on Mt Tam can be very unpredictable and can change quickly. Dressing in layers is recommended.
EQUIPMENT: For presentations at Pantoll, bring a folding chair.

Public Restrooms: Available at East Peak, Rock Spring, Bootjack, Mountain Home, and Pantoll.
