  • Cowell Theater at Fort Mason Center 2 Marina Boulevard San Francisco, CA, 94123 United States (map)

$23.50 to $65.50

The production, choreographed by Mark Foehringer, is a 50-minute dance theater work based on Lewis Carroll's classic children's story, Alice's Adventure in Wonderland. It is

danced storytelling at its best - - affordable, magical, zany, fun, and sure to engage children with the performing arts.

"I am excited to bring back Mark Foehringer's Alice in Wonderland for the first time in six years and celebrate the Company's 30th anniversary," said Mark Foehringer, Artistic Director of MFDP|SF. "Mark Foehringer Dance Project|SF has touched so many lives and introduced live performance to young people all over the Bay Area. The Company's endurance is a testament to the importance of human connection through shared experiences."

Foehringer uses his choreographic skills in contemporary dance and ballet to craft a show that is thrilling to all ages. Audiences will see their favorite Alice in Wonderland characters in beautiful costumes performing on a colorful set, with a musical score by Camille Saint-Saens. And a live 11-piece chamber orchestra conducted by Keisuke Nakagoshi (San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Opera Parallele).

The production also includes collaborations with puppeteer Simon Trumble (The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Bay Area Children's Theatre, Berkeley), the late music director Michael Morgan (Oakland Symphony), costume designer Stephanie Verriere (Verrieres & Sako), scenic designer Peter Crompton (award recipient of Bay Area Critic's Choice, Shellies and many Goodman Choice awards), projection designer Frederic O. Boulay, and lighting designer Matthew Antaky (Opera Parallele, Cabrillo Music Festival). Former ODC dancer Brian Fisher serves as the rehearsal director and artistic associate.
