We are thrilled to invite you to the Bay Area Butterfly Festival on May 19, 2024, from 10 am to 5 pm, at the Coal Shed Brewery Promenade on Mare Island! This is a family-friendly community festival! On two stages, fantastic performers, dance troops, and live bands will delight you with their talents. Children's FREE games and hands-on activities will entertain young ones throughout the day. Musical performances fill the air—dancing is not required, but it is definitely recommended! Artisans and small businesses will sell their art, wares, and many fantastic sustainable goods. Community groups will lead pop-up workshops on a wide range of exciting topics, including hands-on free activities. Food vendors and food trucks will offer a variety of cuisines, including vegan and gluten-free options. Wine and beer will be available, and a variety of booths will provide an array of tasty non-alcoholic beverages.

Join us and experience the beautiful view of the Carquinez Strait from the boardwalk on Mare Island. This unique venue allows for easy access and lots of parking! This low-to-no-waste festival will highlight the importance of sustainability in this vital Monarch over-wintering site. There will be a focus on sustainable living, clean water practices, and environmental education.

This is a fun and exciting opportunity for people of all ages to enjoy this beautiful niche of Solano County! The Monarch Milkweed Project, Inc., and the Vallejo People's Garden are co-hosting and organizing this fantastic festival with the support of the Contra Costa Resource Conservation District, Solano Resource Conservation District, and Sustainable Solano.
