"Doors" open at 4:30pm; performance at 6:30pm.

Join us at Slide Ranch, on Saturday August 29th, for a magical time, as we gather on the bluff to experience Dawned on Dusk – the whimsical, bird-filled puppet show that Muir Beach community member Olivia Carroll-Weisel will be bringing to life amidst the Slide landscape. Bring a picnic, a blanket, and your friends and family! The show will take place as the sun lowers over the Pacific horizon, perhaps in golden light or shrouded in the beauty of late summer fog.  

Dawned on Dusk is a home-made paper-maché puppet show of epic proportions! This story for all ages follows Early, the early bird, as she attempts to find worms and restore the natural order of day and night. Come along for this wonderful and weird adventure and walk away saying, ‘How peculiar! How fun!’” This show is a collaboration between friends that live together in San Francisco and their neighborhood recycling. The story is puppeted by Olivia Carroll-Weisel, penned by Connor Williams, and made animate by our extended community of willing transfigurers.  

This special event is made possible with support from the West Marin Fund, as part of a collaborative effort to bring the creations of West Marin artists to Slide Ranch. It is rooted in the spirit of gathering together in gardens and on land, to celebrate what truly nourishes us – community, art, nature, food...! 

Date and Time: Saturday, August 29th. “Doors” open at 4:30pm; performance at 6:30pm, with a puppet-led procession to the garden cypress for focaccia + pesto after the show. Arrive anytime after 4:30pm to set up your picnic blanket, explore the Ranch, and settle in for the show at the Yurt Bluff.  

Cost: Sliding Scale tickets ranging from $10 to $30; $6 to $20 per child under 13. Limited tickets available. Sliding Scale made possible by WMF support.
