Fort Point's Civil War Living History Weekend

  • Fort Point 201 Marine Drive San Francisco, CA, 94129 United States (map)

Fort Point served as the “key to the entire Pacific Coast” and the “Guardian of the Golden Gate” during one of our nation’s most trying times. Twice a year, we don our union blue, march through the sally port, and hoist the colors to the sound of Fife and Drums.

Join National Park Service Rangers and volunteers as they demonstrate what life was like for all who served here during the American Civil War.

Fort Point Living History Weekend is FREE to the public and will take place February 3 and 4, and August 3 and 4. No reservations are required. As a visitor, you’ll have an opportunity to engage with the reenactors and experience the sights and sounds of an active U.S. Army fort during the 1860’s. There will be period demonstrations, music and activities for all ages to enjoy.
