ABOUT THE RANCHO ROOTS EXHIBIT
Marin Community History Day takes place alongside the Marin History Museum’s newest exhibit, Rancho Roots: The Californio Legacy of Marin, the Museum’s first fully bilingual exhibit. The exhibit explores the lasting legacy of the Californio ranchos in Marin County, tracing the history of the Spanish and Mexican settlers who established ranchos across the region in the early nineteenth century. Through artifacts, family stories, and interactive displays, the exhibit connects life on the ranchos to the farms, landscapes, and place names that continue to shape Marin today.
