An inspiring night where youth art, student voices, and climate action take center stage
Painted Bins presents Trash Bash, its flagship fundraiser, on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at the Mill Valley Community Center.
Trash Bash is a vibrant, art filled community celebration that brings together families, students, educators, and local supporters around a shared commitment to environmental stewardship. The evening shines a spotlight on the creativity and leadership of Marin's youth while raising critical funds to expand Painted Bins' education programs.
The event opens with the new Stewardship in Action reception from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. During this interactive experience, students guide guests through themed stations featuring their original posters and sharing how responsible waste management protects oceans and wildlife, reduces landfill waste, and nurtures trees, gardens, and local communities.
The evening continues with a three-course seated dinner catered by Marin favorite Sage Catering, followed by a dynamic program that includes student speakers, a short student produced video about composting, a lively auction, and presentation of the Climate Educator Award. Ticket and sponsorship sales directly support Painted Bins' education programs by:
Providing students with hands on environmental and arts education
Enabling school champions to deliver environmental curriculum and lead poster projects
Supporting the processing and production of student artwork for placement on public bins
Coordinating art shows that engage and educate local communities
