Better Together celebrates the partnerships that help keep Marin County clean, from our customers and employees to local nonprofits and community organizations. Customer Appreciation Day is our chance to open our doors, share what we do, and thank the community for being part of it.
At Marin Sanitary Service, we believe education is one of the best ways to build a more sustainable community. Throughout the year, we host free community events that give residents a chance to explore our facilities, learn how recycling and composting work in Marin County, meet our team, and connect with local organizations making a difference.

Free Compost

Bring a container and take home up to 64 gallons while supplies last.
Document Shredding
9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Securely shred one banker box or grocery bag of personal documents for free.
Textile Drop-Off
9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Bring clean, dry clothing and textiles for reuse and recycling! Our partner Goodwill SFBay will sort textiles for resale locally.
