October is the height of fall migration, with birds moving south toward Central and South America. We’ll be on the lookout for migratory wetland species, such as red knots. (In fact, our new Motus Tower, affixed to our campground kiosk, can help you track what’s flying over the park.) In the forests and meadows, we’ll be on the lookout for warblers and flycatchers before they depart for warmer climes. And we’ll try to spy local birds that overwinter here, such as white-tailed kites and ospreys. Along the way, we’ll explore how birds navigate using their remarkable senses and our planet’s magnetic field. Space is limited; registration is required. Cancellation notified via email.
