Marin Foster Care's Inaugural Dance-a-Thon

Please join our family-friendly dance extravaganza at Marin Foster Care's inaugural Dance-a-Thon held at the Bay Area Discovery Museum on Sunday, April 28th from 2:30 - 4:30pm to benefit Marin County's foster children in care.

Fun face-painting, live DJ music, snacks, bubble machine, photo booth and more.   The afternoon is designed as a tangible way to get children of all ages involved in the act of philanthropy while building community and supporting our local foster youth.

Raise money as an individual or as a team to help support Marin's foster children aged anywhere from newborn to young adult.  The more money you raise, the more raffle tickets you'll earn for chances to win awesome family-friendly prizes (like Park Hopper tickets to Disneyland!).

Group and Individual Registration opens March 1st at http://marinfostercare.org/dance-a-thon/.

The first 70 registrants will receive complimentary admission to the Bay Area Discovery Museum to enjoy anytime before the Dance-a-Thon begins.  (And don't worry - non-dancers are welcome as well!)  Ticket cost is $25 per adult, $15 per child.  Children under 4 years are free.  Participants who raise a minimum of $100 receive complimentary event admission.

Did you know?

Every year in Marin County over 100 children aged newborn to young adult have open cases in the dependency system and dozens of families are impacted by trauma associated with abuse and neglect.  Due to a shortage of foster homes in Marin, about ¼ of our children (mostly teens) have to be placed out of county. Yet the face of foster care in Marin remains shadowed.  Please help raise awareness and support the children in our community.

MFCA’s fundraising efforts focus on continuing programs that ensure:

  • Every Marin foster child has access to funds for tutoring and enrichment

  • Marin foster children receive needed clothing, toys and sports equipment, school and safety supplies

  • Marin foster caregivers have training and assistance navigating the complex dependency system

  • Marin foster children and their caregivers enjoy community-building events and outings

  • Marin foster children and their caregivers have an active, informed advocate in their community
