Bay Area American Indian Two-Spirits
/All are welcome to join the Indigenous two-spirits community for the annual “Bay Area American Indian Two-Spirit (BAAITS) Powwow” at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture (FMCAC) on Yelamu Ramaytush Ohlone Lands. The “Two-Spirit Powwow” celebrates traditional Indigenous culture and also provides a gender-affirming experience for the diverse two-spirits community, the LGBTQ+ community, and allies.
The free “Two-Spirit Powwow” is open to all (Indigenous and non-Indigenous) and features performers from every tribal nation in traditional Indigenous regalia (clothing), dancing, singing, drumming, contests, and joyful celebration. On-site vendors sell frybread, buffalo burgers, Indigenous art and jewelry, and other items.
