Bike + Hike 4 Buckelew is the North Bay’s premier outdoor fundraiser for mental health, uniting riders, hikers, and families in support of life-saving recovery services. Join us on Saturday, May 9th to move your body in support of Buckelew’s essential mental health services!

Hiking Routes

Beginner Hike: Led by local author Katie Martin: We’re thrilled to share that Katie Martin, local author of Hiking Marin, will guide the hike through Turtleback Loop this year. This is a relaxed, 2.3-mile experience for those who want a comfortable and engaging trail walk.

Intermediate Hike: Shoreline Trail & History of China Camp: Perfect for intermediate hikers and history buffs! This 2.6-mile Shoreline Trail hike will be sprinkled with historical facts and stories. A docent from China Camp Village will lead tours focused on the history of this area.

Advanced Hike: Bayview Trailhead Motivated hikers will love this 3.5-mile trek! A quick shuttle ride to the Bayview Trailhead will lead to a lovely downhill hike through wooded forests. Guided by Sarah Godfrey, a local naturalist with 30 years of conservation experience, and Jessica Redding, San Rafael High School Hiking PE teacher.

SOLD OUT! Advanced Hike: Ecologist-Led Experience Discover native plants, birds, and natural wonders! This exclusive guided walk is led by local experts Sarah Swope, Professor of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, and Sam Abercrombie, Certified Botanist & Environmental Consultant. (Limited to 20).

Mountain Bike Routes

Little Bellas Guided Ride Ride alongside the next generation of mountain bikers! A coach from this empowering nonprofit will lead a family-friendly trail adventure. Little Bellas is all about creating experiences that prove cycling is for everyone!

Beginner Ride New to mountain biking or looking for a laid-back ride? This non-technical option is the perfect choice for those wanting a relaxed, welcoming experience. Loop through shaded woods and lower campsites for a great intro to China Camp area. Low pressure, high enjoyment.

Intermediate Ride

This ride starts with a mellow roll, followed by a moderate climb through wooded trails, three sections of fun flowy descents spiked with small technical sections, and ending with some playful ups and downs on your way back to base camp. Distance: 10 miles • Elevation Gain: 1,000 ft

Advanced Ride 90% singletrack and packed with everything to love about Marin trails! We’ll climb the summit of Mt. Pedro for stunning views, descend the backside through exciting terrain, climb again, and finish with a few fun flowy descents spiked with technical sections. Distance: 14.5 miles • Elevation Gain: 2,000 ft

$25 suggested donation per raffle ticket, or $100 for five tickets.

Activities

B4B is a day of connection and community, all ages and skill levels are welcome to attend!

Participants can enjoy guided nature hikes, mountain bike rides led by skilled riders, or an outdoor yoga class among the meadows. Choose your preferred activity level (beginner, intermediate, advanced) at sign-up.

Or join us for the party, including live music by the Heavy Hitterz and a delicious catered breakfast and paella lunch.

Supporting Mental Health and Recovery

Every penny raised at Movement Festival supports Buckelew Programs, the North Bay’s largest nonprofit network of counseling, detox treatment and recovery, supported housing and suicide prevention services. Buckelew also operates a 988 Suicide & Crisis call center – one of 12 in California – answering calls from Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Lake and Mendocino county numbers.
