It's officially getting closer to summer and you want to get your family to an old-fashioned county fair with fun carnival rides, food, and live entertainment. The Bay Area hosts a number of great county fairs and I've compiled a list just for you. Tickets are on sale now, some at discounted prices. Check the websites for more details.
May 16 - 19
The 23rd District Agricultural Association is home to the Contra Costa County Fair that has hosted hundreds of thousands of guests for over 75 years. The Fairgrounds celebrates all that is best in Contra Costa County while preserving the agricultural heritage of the community.
June 19 – 23, 8am to 5pm, Wednesday - Sunday
The Sonoma-Marin Fair promotes and showcases agriculture, while displaying the diverse talents, interests and accomplishments of the citizens of California, especially the youth of Sonoma and Marin counties.
June 27 - 30
Five days of fun, food, music, animals, culture, shopping and more focusing on highlighting popular attractions from past years and bringing them back to the Fair again by bringing back many of the popular bands, attractions and activities.
July 04, 12-11pm
Join us for an all-American, vintage 4th of July with summer sizzle starting with a classic, hometown parade in charming Calistoga, then head on over to the Fair for fabulous foods, live music and entertainment, fun rides, and vintage contests.
The California State Fair, established in 1854, is dedicated as a place to celebrate California's achievements, industries, agriculture, and diversity of its people, traditions and trends that shape the Golden State's future.
August 1 - 4
The transformation is almost complete as the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds prepares to host 2017 County Fair. The theme "STEAM'n Hot Summer" signals a Fair which will blend all the traditional events the annual Fair offers plus hands on activities that make learning fun for the whole family.
