The Octopi in The Sky Returns To The #BerkeleyKiteFestival

Kites aren't just for kids any more. Experience the excitement and artistry of modern kite flying. You'll find something for everyone at The Berkeley Kite Festival. From the Giant Creature Kites as big as houses, to the free Kite Making and Candy Drop for kids, you don't want to miss this year’s Annual Berkeley Kite Festival. This years Festival takes place this Saturday & Sunday, July 29-30, 10am-6pm attracting kite enthusiasts from around the world.

Marvel at the sight of huge Giant Creature kites flowing in the wind, cheer on your favorite kites at the various competitions including a kite ballet and rokkaku battles, and watch the stunt kite displays. There are kites of all shapes and sizes.

Know Before You Go

» Check the weather at the Berkeley Marina and dress appropriately. Layers is always a safe bet.
» Don't forget the sunscreen and water.
» Parking in the Marina is $15. Overflow Parking at Golden Gate Fields is $15 and includes shuttles to and from the festival. Proceeds support local charities.
» If you do not have a kite, there are plenty on sale.
