Join us for this year’s Hot Air Balloon Classic, set against the stunning backdrop of Sonoma County’s wine country at the iconic Sonoma County Fairgrounds. This beloved two-day festival invites you to witness a dazzling display of color and creativity as standard and character-shaped balloons inflate and take to the skies in a breathtaking launch.

For an unforgettable adventure, hop aboard a tethered balloon ride* and enjoy a taste of the spectacular views from above.

This entirely volunteer-run event is more than just a visual delight—every dollar raised supports local charities, making each moment part of something meaningful.

Don’t miss the awe-inspiring Glow Show, where pilots light up their balloons at 5:00 AM, transforming the dark morning into a magical field of glowing giants—a photographer’s dream. Then at 6:30 AM, the Main Launch fills the sky with a majestic ascent of balloons floating gracefully into the dawn.

While the balloons drift above, stay grounded in fun with delicious food, live music, and unique crafts from local vendors—all happening until around 10:00 AM.

*Note: Tethered balloon rides require a separate ticket.

SCHEDULE

Please note that most ballooning activities take place early in the morning. Once the balloons launch, there will be tethered balloons on site, but times for tethers are dependent on wind conditions.

4:00 AM - Gates Open
5:00 AM - Hot Air Balloon Glow Show
~6:30 AM - Main Launch (Approx. 20 balloons participate)
6:00 AM - ~10:30 AM* - Tethered hot air balloon rides
