10 Important Things To Know Before You Go

1. Arrive early! Parking can be a challenge. Take public transportation if that is possible. Free bike valet. Get there early and you should be able to find a spot nearby. RSVP for free tickets in advance. Seating is first come, first served. Reservations for paid VIP tables are available at each performance!

2. Pack your picnic and bring a blanket big enough to fit your company. I do not recommend bringing chairs - if you do make sure they have a low back. They're cumbersome, block the people behind you, and you may not end up in an area that is flat.

3. Dress in layers. Weather change quickly in San Francisco. And leave the pumps at home - Stern Grove is a lovely grassy field and you may need to sit on the hill.

4. Pack a picnic (beer and wine are allowed.) Food trucks and vendors are available.

5. Sorry, no pets.

6. Show your support and Donate! Buckets will be sent around at this FREE concert.

7. Don't forget sunscreen but if you do, the emergency tent has a big bottle of sunscreen you can use.

8. Bring hearing protection earmuffs for children and babies.

9. Stern Grove concerts are very Kid-Friendly. There is a Kid Zone in the East Meadow with great activities. The West meadow is a fun place to run about. There are also plenty of Geocaches in Stern Grove.

10. Bring a water bottle. Refilling stations are located in multiple places around Stern Grove.

The Stern Grove Festival Association is a non-profit arts presenting organization committed to providing the people of the Bay Area with admission-free access to diverse, outstanding performing arts. Every year since 1938, the organization presents admission-free, outdoor concerts at Stern Grove Festival. A San Francisco tradition, music and nature lovers gather at The Festival to enjoy music, picnicking, and relaxation in a serene meadow surrounded by giant eucalyptus, redwood, and fir trees.
