Richmond Juneteenth Family Day and Festival

  • Nichol Park 3230 Macdonald Avenue Richmond, CA, 94804 United States (map)

Join us for a vibrant celebration of Juneteenth, a significant day in Black history, commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. The City of Richmond is excited to host a memorable Juneteenth Parade and Festival on June 21st, 2025, from 10 am to 6 pm.

Juneteenth, celebrated annually on June 19, marks the day in 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Texas finally learned they were free—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. This monumental moment in history is a powerful reminder of the ongoing journey toward equality and justice. Richmond has proudly commemorated this heritage for over 40 years, creating a celebration that unites our residents and honors our diverse history.

The Richmond Juneteenth is a collaborative effort between the City of Richmond and local community-based organizations that have come together to honor this important day. Let’s celebrate our history, uplift our community, and embrace our collective future!
