Mill Valley Recreation, along with the City of Mill Valley, will host the second annual Juneteenth celebration this year called the Freedom Festival.

The Festival celebrates African American heritage and is an opportunity to educate the community on topics ranging from health to educational and financial literacy. Northern California’s consistently longest-running Juneteenth Festival is held in June on Father's Day, and offers an African American cultural experience with history, art, food, music, dance children's activities, and spoken word, for all to enjoy.

Come experience the national parks! On six days in 2024, all National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone.

Vallejo's Juneteenth will feature a great mix of music that will appeal to a variety of our visitors. The entertainment lineup will also feature homegrown talent performing gospel music, spoken word, choreographed dance, demonstrations, and more.

Juneteenth commemorates the liberation of the enslaved peoples in Texas, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation abolished slavery in the Confederate States in 1863. We will observe the date with a local celebration including, music, art, drumming, singing, dancing, and musical performance.

The City of Richmond will be hosting the Juneteenth Family Day and Festival with a parade, festival, live music, food, art and more!

This annual gathering continues to affirm the brilliance, resilience, & Love of African Diaspora communities while fostering unity among.

The Marin City Juneteenth Festival is the largest annual Festival of Black African Arts and Culture in the North Bay Area. We choose to celebrate our culture on Juneteenth, a holiday celebrated in Texas and the United States for decades.
