National Night Out was introduced by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) in 1984 and began as a concept for generating greater crime prevention involvement among residents.

The City of Half Moon Bay encourages residents to host block parties on National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. We'll help jump-start block parties by offering a gift card that will help offset the costs of putting on a great neighborhood block party.

Neighborhood events are coordinated by leadership in those communities.

The intent of hosting this event is for people to meet fellow residents and Police, Fire, and City staff, partake in fun activities and raffles, and have giveaways for children. In addition to the Daly City Police Department, representatives from the businesses below will be at the event.

Strengthen your community by knowing your neighbors, watching out for each other, and working together for a safe community.  This event is open to all residents and blocks in the City of San Mateo.

Bring the whole family for an opportunity to meet members of the Police Department and other first responders, take emergency response vehicle tours, and learn more about law enforcement while enjoying music, food trucks, and more with the whole Foster City community. 

On the first Tuesday of August, neighborhoods throughout Burlingame are invited to join forces with thousands of other communities nationwide for the National Night Out crime prevention event. 

National Night Out is an annual community-building event that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement, and fosters Redwood City's sense of community.
