Dive into the heart of the season with Redwood City’s most anticipated fall event– Oktoberfest Downtown Redwood City! Immerse yourself in the exciting atmosphere of a classic Oktoberfest, where the spirit of traditional German revelry comes alive. Picture this: an Oktoberfest wonderland, adorned with over 2,000 feet of inviting "family style" bench seating, creating the perfect setting for camaraderie and connection. And that's just the beginning! Get your steins ready for a clinking good time with contests, music, and dancing that will have you cheering for more. It's all happening from Wednesday, September 20 to Sunday, September 24, as Courthouse Square trans-forms into a dazzling, decked-out tent of celebration. Prost to a sensational September of German fun, not to be forgotten!
Ticket prices range from $10 - $17 for all ages, and $16 - $27 for people 21+. This includes a commemorative stein and a drink ticket (beer or soda depending on ticket type). Also available are special VIP, 6-person table-seatings, offered at $255.
Fun German-style entertainment starts on Wednesday September 20 with authentic dance music by Deutscher Musikverein and Nature Friends Schuhplattler, followed by Alpine Sound and Nature Friends Schuhplattler on Thursday September 21. Friday September 22 through Sunday September 24 features The Internationals Band, and Bayerischer Heimat und Trachtenverein (formerly Golden Gate Bavarian Club) as dance performers and game hosts.
Downtown Redwood City's Oktoberfest extravaganza offers authentically delicious German food, featuring pretzels and brats, along with enticingly cold beer. Dancing, singing and tons of audience participation will include dance contests, stein holding, yodeling contest, skits with hand gestures to select songs, etc., not to mention many variations of the "international" chicken dance.
