Did you know?
Every year in Marin County over 100 children aged newborn to young adult have open cases in the dependency system and dozens of families are impacted by trauma associated with abuse and neglect. Due to a shortage of foster homes in Marin, about ¼ of our children (mostly teens) have to be placed out of county. Yet the face of foster care in Marin remains shadowed. Please help raise awareness and support the children in our community.
MFCA’s fundraising efforts focus on continuing programs that ensure:
Every Marin foster child has access to funds for tutoring and enrichment
Marin foster children receive needed clothing, toys and sports equipment, school and safety supplies
Marin foster caregivers have training and assistance navigating the complex dependency system
Marin foster children and their caregivers enjoy community-building events and outings
Marin foster children and their caregivers have an active, informed advocate in their community
