San Francisco to Celebrate Golden State Valkyries with Championship Parade November 4

San Francisco is gearing up for a historic celebration! Mayor Daniel Lurie has announced a victory parade honoring the WNBA champion Golden State Valkyries on Wednesday, November 4, from noon to 2 p.m.

The parade will travel along the Embarcadero, beginning near the Ferry Building at Mission Street and concluding at Second and King streets. Valkyries players, coaches, staff, city officials, and Bay Area sports legends will come together to celebrate the team's incredible achievement. Fans can begin lining up along the parade route as early as 9 a.m.

The championship celebration is another major event bringing excitement, visitors, and economic activity to downtown San Francisco. Following the success of Fleet Week, which attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors, the parade adds to a growing calendar of world-class sporting and cultural events helping fuel the city's recovery and support local businesses.

San Francisco has already welcomed major events including Super Bowl LX, SF Pride, FIFA World Cup, Dreamforce, the Pokémon World Championships, Portola Music Festival, and Summer of Music. Collectively, these events have generated more than $1 billion in economic impact for the city. Looking ahead, Vogue World and WNBA All-Star Weekend are scheduled for 2027, followed by MLB All-Star Weekend in 2028.

“In just two years, the Golden State Valkyries have taken the sports world by storm,” said Mayor Lurie. “They have built a fiercely loyal fan base that has sold out every home game they’ve ever played, cemented San Francisco as a global hub of women’s sports, and now taken their rightful place as WNBA champions.”

He added that the team embodies the spirit and values that make San Francisco unique, bringing the community together and giving fans across the Bay Area plenty to celebrate.

For the Valkyries, the parade is also an opportunity to recognize the fans who have supported the team from the very beginning.

“Before we even had a name or any players on our roster, Bay Area fans supported this team with a joy and passion that's unmatched in all professional sports,” said Jess Smith, Golden State Valkyries President. “They wore the colors, they led the chants, and they showed up anywhere and everywhere to cheer on the Valkyries.”

Smith said the celebration is a chance to thank the community for its role in the team's championship journey, adding that she looks forward to seeing the Embarcadero filled with fans dressed in violet, celebrating alongside the players and coaches.

Come out, wear your violet and gold, and help celebrate the Golden State Valkyries' historic championship! It's a wonderful opportunity to show your team spirit and be part of a special moment in Bay Area sports history.
