Fairy Winterland at Children’s Fairyland has been a Bay Area tradition for nearly twenty years! This festive multicultural celebration of global traditions, winter holidays, and end-of-year rituals brings communities together and illuminates the shared truths that unite us all.

It's Back! A Wildly Illuminating Lantern Festival!
Festivities include live performances from local artists, professional photos with Santa, giant puppets, childrens’ crafts and activities, Oakland Fire Department parade rig and toy drive, choirs and live music performances, feasts and libations, and holiday shopping at over forty businesses.
Lots of holiday festivities will be happening throughout the day! Plan to enjoy it strolling through the neighborhood, eating, and gift shopping while checking out live music playing throughout The Laurel. Don't miss Santa Claus passing out candy and reading stories to children! Free yoga, clothing swaps, makers' market, and more!
Evenings in late December are lit with the return of Fairy Winterland at Children’s Fairyland. This magical multicultural event brings families together to share in the season’s festivities. It’s the same Winterland you know and love, with a few additional measures to help keep everyone safe.
The Oakland / Alameda Lighted Yacht Parade, an annual tradition, brings communities together to celebrate the season and the communities waterfront history.
