Monthly community music jam in Berkeley. All ages and skill levels welcome. Play, sing, or listen. Free, low-pressure gathering at La Peña.
Every 3rd Wednesday
Looking for an open Berkeley music jam where you can play live music, meet other musicians, and feel supported while exploring Latin American music styles?
Las Mermeladas is a relaxed, welcoming space to connect through music in community.
This monthly jam centers Latin American and Afro-Latin music styles like salsa, cumbia, boleros, Latin jazz, and regional folk music.
Musicians are invited to take solos, vocalists are welcomed throughout the night, and there are often opportunities to try out instruments like güiro, bongos, and congas.
All ages. All instruments. All skill levels welcome.
Led by José Roberto Hernández, the jam is gently facilitated so newcomers, seasoned musicians, and families alike can participate and feel included!
No jam experiance needed.
No instrument needed.
