Twelve Things To Do On Christmas Day

Christmas Day is less than a week away. When you are done opening and assembling presents you will still find plenty of fun things to do. To honor the Twelve Days of Christmas; here are the top twelve picks my true love sent to me this December 25th.

On the first day of ChristmasWaterfall Hike, with all the rain we've been having, it's time to soak up the waterfalls and a Partridge in a Pear Tree.

On the second day of Christmas: Bring a dish to share for Two Turtle Doves to the Winter-Christmas Day Potluck Celebration at the Bolinas Community Center.

On the third day of Christmas: Join Three French Hens to an intimate theatrical circus experience for the holidays with "Mittens and Mistletoe: A Winter Circus Cabaret” at Dance Mission Theater, San Francisco.

On the forth day of Christmas: San Francisco Zoo, 10am-4pm, for a real wildlife adventure and Four Calling Birds on Christmas Day.

On the fifth day of Christmas: Contemporary Jewish Museum, 11am-4pm, admission-free, fun-for-all extravaganza! Explore the galleries, create art, and move and groove to live music and β™« FIVE GOLDEN RINGS β™«

On the sixth day of Christmas: Six Geese a Laying at the San Francisco Botanical Gardens, 7:30am-5pm, escape to a unique, 55-acre urban oasis of extraordinary beauty within Golden Gate Park and it's also free.

On the seventh day of Christmas: Seven Swans a Swimming at the Japanese Tea Gardens, free admission, time to sip some tea and stroll the beautiful Japanese-style gardens also in the heart of Golden Gate Park. Try to find the elusive Fairy Doors nearby.

On the eighth day of Christmas: Eight Maids a Milking and Bowling, Yerba Buena Bowling (12-5pm) and Presidio Bowl (12p-12a) in San Francisco are open and perfect fun for the whole family. Little kids can have fun with bumper bowling too. 

On the ninth day of Christmas: Nine Ladies Dancing through Chinatown because it rarely closes on Western holidays and is a great place to take kids on Christmas Day. 

On the tenth day of Christmas: Ten Lords a Leaping all over the Ice Skating rinks at Marin on Ice, Union Square, Embarcadero, Yerba Buena, and Alameda are all open.

On the eleventh day of Christmas: Eleven Pipers Piping to Become a San Francisco tourist. Walk across the Golden Gate Bridge, hike at Land's End, grab a bit to eat at Fisherman's Wharf and, OH YES, ride the cable cars. Tour 49 Mile Drive and reacquaint yourself with one of the most amazing cities in the world.

On the twelfth day of Christmas: Christmas Houses light up after 6pm, including the famous Rombeiro's Christmas House in Novato which invites guests stroll inside. 12 Drummers Drumming....drum roll please.
