The 50th Annual Nihonmachi Street Fair (NSF) is an important come back from a year of not being able to experience, embrace and enjoy the annual festivities. On August 3rd and 4th, NSF will bring the Summer of Love back to Japantown and with that stellar performances and activities for everyone to enjoy.
Enjoy live music on two stages, all things Gravenstein in our new “Apple Alley”, fabulous local food, art & crafts vendors, activities for kids, farm animals and demonstrations, craft ciders, microbrews, premium wines, and VIP Lounge. WWII Living History Event and 1940s Swing Dance
Celebrate America's Spirit on Saturday, August 12, 2023, Spirit of ’45 Day, at History Park in San Jose as we remember the service and sacrifice of the World War II Generation. Take a trip back in time as the 14-acre History Park is transported to August 1945 when the world celebrated the end of World War II.
CELEBRATE THE GREATEST GENERATION ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 12 AT SPIRIT OF ’45 DAY, AT HISTORY PARK IN SAN JOSE. TAKE A TRIP BACK IN TIME AS THE 14 ACRE HISTORY PARK IS TRANSPORTED TO THE 1940S WITH LIVE BIG BAND MUSIC, SWING DANCING, FASHION AND CAR SHOWS, A WWII TENT CITY, HOMECOMING PARADE, FOOD TRUCKS AND ACTIVITIES FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!
Spirit of ’45 Day kicks off at 2 p.m. with vendors, children’s activities, and living history camps; then as the evening progresses the event flows into a 1940s swing dance party. Dance begins at 7 p.m.
Step right up and be whisked away to the carnival-inspired escapade at stunning Point San Pablo Harbor!

Find out why San Francisco had the only brick fort west of the Missippi, and the role of California in the Civil War. See cooking demonstrations, hear period music, and meet military historian John Martini who will sign his classic book on the fort's history available in the bookstore.
