Our free community celebration will be continuing the traditions including a car procession through San Rafael, and altars in downtown San Rafael storefronts.

Join us for a celebration of Latin American music and culture including lobby installations by local artists. Conducted by Miguel Harth-Bedoya with vocalist Edna Vazquez and Casa Círculo Cultural, the dynamic concert program features traditional music with contemporary works honoring the rich heritage of this ancient holiday.

Join us in the making of altars to celebrate the memory of our departed loved ones. There will be arts and crafts, sugar skull decorating, performances by community groups, and much more.

Celebrate Dia de Los Muertos with us and watch Coco in the great outdoors. Bring photos or personal items of your loved ones who have passed, to place on an ofrenda to honor and celebrate their lives. Appropriate for all ages. Nighttime at Stafford can get chilly; dress in layers and bring your warmest clothes to stay comfortable throughout the evening. Bring food, warm drinks, lawn chairs, and blankets. No pets (except service dogs) are allowed. Adverse weather or poor quality may cancel; if in doubt, call (415) 897-0618 two hours before the event to confirm the status.

Located in the Front Garden. As the capstone to a month of programming in celebration of this time-honored Mexican tradition, the Center’s annual Altar-Lighting ceremony takes place November 2nd on our front lawn.

Día de los Muertos with Ballet Folklorico Mexicano de Carlos Moreno returns to the Bankhead for what will be another sell-out show.

Calixto Robles, San Francisco artist and activist, leads a community altar creation and René y Familia brings the music. 

Jack London Square is a hosting a FREE Halloween Dia de los Muertos Fun Fest event on Sunday, October 29th, from 1PM - 3PM located in the plaza near Plank. This event will include chalk artists, mariachis, crafts, costume contest and Mexican Folklorico dancers.

This annual celebration touches the heart and connects the community with music, food, a car and truck show, activities for kids, and more!

The Unity Council’s Annual Oakland Día de Los Muertos Festival is a free, outdoor festival that brings over 100,000 people to the vibrant, culturally-rich Fruitvale neighborhood to enjoy world-class live music, family-friendly games, rides and activities, traditional Latin American artisans, and the stunning altar artistic installations created by community members paying homage to los Muertos. Families across California join us to experience live music, Ballet Folklórico, Aztec dancers and to shop at the local artisan craft stands.
